Police Officers in Mzimba are accused to have beaten an Under-aged girl causing her to lose a two and half months pregnancy.
The incident is said to have taken place last month when the team of police officer engaged the house of the victim to withdrawal her form marriage.
Meanwhile, Malawi police Service Professional Standards Unit has instituted investigations into the matter.
The team was in Mzimba on Saturday to meet the girl’s family, Civil Society Organizations’ (CSOs) representatives and health workers at Mzimba hospital.
But Mzimba CSO chairperson Mr. Teckson Amadu whose network threatened to seek legal action on the matter has asked the police to arrest the suspects rather than taking mere statements.
