PRESIDENT MUTHARIKA WANTS TO ARREST OPPOSITION IN MALAWI

At a Police pass out parade in Zomba yesterday 22nd July, it pleased president Mutharika to warn all leaders of opposition parties of imminent political arrests. And rumors are making rounds that he has also directed for the arrest of Civil Society Leaders who organized the July 20th Demonstrations. How can a president who wants genuine dialogue treat citizens like that? This man is not a man of peace. This is why he directed the Police in the Northern Region to shot demonstrators in cold blood. These are crimes against humanity and the International Criminal Court is being asked to come to Malawi to investigate. If it is true that Mutharika has plans to arrest opposition and the civil society leaders, all Malawians should unite to fight dictatorship to the end. Democracy is our fuel.
