PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Provide strategic leadership and technical support to the National Office in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Organizational Development (OD). Provide support, counsel and overall analysis to the National Director, and the entire Senior Leadership Team in the areas of: HRM, OD, Leadership Development, Strategic Planning and Administration in collaboration with the National Office People & Culture Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support constant reinforcement of the World Vision (WV) Mission Statement, Core Values, Covenant of Partnership plus the Southern Africa Vision/Strategy Partner on a strategic level with the Senior Leadership to strengthen the OD and human resource aspect of WV Malawi ministry, by providing guidance and counsel to the team and People & Culture Staff. Promote and consult ND on the development of Succession Planning Initiatives for integration into WVM strategic ministry objectives. In a consultative manner, work with each division to ensure that employment practices, compensation, employee benefits and people and culture practices are within World Vision International standards, procedures, guidelines and policies Develop and support relationships with all stakeholders, specifically within Malawi, and become the first point of call on people related matters. Build and strengthen People & Culture capacity in the NO office to ensure all functions are equipped to implement essential human resource systems and structures (employment manuals, standardized compensation packages, People & Culture databases, staff needs assessments, recruitment and retention plans, etc.) Develop and promote future leaders by facilitating learning forums, developing mentoring and coaching tools and a framework for identifying and training potential leaders. Provide coaching/training in all aspects of the People & Culture function, including compensation, benefits, staffing, recruitment and retention, employee relations, critical incident stress and team building Coordinate international staff, People & Culture matters and interpret applicable WVI policies. In consultation with the Southern Africa Region People & Culture team recommend policy revisions, as appropriate, to ensure an accurate reflection of the field realities. Advocate and promote a healthy, creative and safe work environment for all employees Mentor staff to grow in Christian maturity and hold each other accountable

Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration or related field. Experience: 6-8 yrs in Human Resources at Senior Leadership level Computer skills Demonstrated ability in supervision Experience in People management Knowledge of Labour laws Good planning and organizational skills Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff-related to work environment needs Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and public
