TNM yesterday was expected to reaffirm its commitment towards developing football in the country when they announced an increment of Super League sponsorship from K60 million to K65 million.

It does not get better as the mobile service providers have lived up to their motto of ‘always with you’ by extending the duration of contract from the traditional three years to five years.

The development means the TNM Super League sponsorship will run up to 2017.

The Super League is entering the seventh season for the league under TNM sponsorship.

TNM was expected to announce the increment at Mount Soche Hotel on Tuesday evening as we went to press.

TNM have sponsored the league for the past six seasons and they already announced that they would renew the contract during last season’s prize presentation ceremony.

The sponsors said they decided to renew the sponsorship because they had been impressed with the administration of the league after three cornerstones of their conditions of sponsorship-good governance, hooliganism free and improved standards of play – were achieved.

The 2012/2013 TNM Super League rolls into action this weekend with defending champions Silver Strikers hosting Bullets FC at Silver Stadium in the official launch clash.

Sulom general secretary Williams Banda said all was set for the 2011/2012 season.

“We are looking forward to a glorious season as the country’s top flight league starts this weekend” .

Banda said the sponsors had lined up several activities during the launch at Silver Stadium.
