Minister of Information and Civic Education Mr. Moses Kunkuyu is stranded abroad. Leader of Government Business in the House Mr. Henry Phoya disclosed this in parliment on Tuesday amid queries from backbenchers. “Mr. Speaker Sir, the Minister of Information and Civic Education is not with us. He is stranded somewhere abroad. He has flight connection problems,” said Phoya.

The development came as parliament was told that questions directed to the ministry could not be tackled due to the unavailability of the minister.

Lilongwe Msozi South parliamentarian Mr. Vitus Dzoole Mwale questioned the wisdom of not answering the questions because the minister was not available. “Is it wise to let the honourable house be held to ransom due to the absence of the minister in question? Wondered Mwale.

Later, Leader of the House came up with answers from the ministry of information. Mr. Phoya did not disclose the whereabouts of the minister.
