Malawi has been chosen to host the 2013 African Youth Parliament of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association-CPA.
This was announced during the on-going 43rd Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association-Africa Region in South Africa.
Speaker of the Malawi National Assembly, Mr. Henry Chimunthu Banda expressed gratitude for what he described as an honour for Lilongwe to host the meeting.
The youth parliament will comprise a representation of two young people – male and female – drawn from each member parliament and one youth from provincial or state legislature.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association is a grouping of 19 national branches and 45 provincial and state legislatures, drawn from mostly former British colonies in Africa.
