Malawi President Joyce Banda is in South Africa for a state visit straight from Nigeria where she gave a key note address at a conference for Africa’s First Ladies.

According to a statement from State House, President Banda will on Monday meet African Union Chairperson Mrs. Nkosazana Dlamin-Zuma and a day later will meet President Jacob Zuma.

On Tuesday, the President will participate in bilateral discussions between Malawi Government Finance Officials and South African Government Finance Officials.

The same day the President will meet Nelson Mandela’s wife, Mrs. Graca Machel and officials from the Mandela Institute on Development Studies.

“Among other things they will have discussions on Malawi’s Presidential Initiative on Poverty and Hunger Reduction,” reads the statement.

The President will then on Friday on Wednesday members of Malawi’s Presidential Advisory Council on the Economy.

She will leave the rainbow nation Thursday morning and is expected to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe around 11 o’clock in the morning.
