Malawian rapper, Pop Dogg, based in Ireland has dominated the nominations for the 2012 Ireland African Music Awards.

Pop Dog, whose real name is Ibrahim Hadji, has scooped four nominations, for best rap artist, best male artist, best video and best collabo categories.

The artist won two awards last year for Best Male Artist and Best Song Collaboration.

The awards are aimed at promoting and celebrating urban Music, Entertainment, Arts and Culture in Ireland’s new cultural diversity that has changed significantly in recent years.

One of the artists’ videos ‘Be my lady’ is currently enjoying airplay on MBC TV and other internet music sites.

The awards this year are expected to take place on 7th September in Dublin.
