Airtel Malawi has already spent over K8.8 million as prize money to lucky subscribers in the ongoing Yabooka SMS promotion.

The Yabooka SMS promotion, which amounts amount to over K29 million is in the eighth week.

The company’s Marketing Manager Enwell Kadango said the company is committed to changing people’s lives in the country by introducing top class telecommunication solutions and promotions unmatched by any service provider.

“Airtel believes in empowering Malawians by coming up with meaningful promotions whose prizes change their lives. We conduct promotions that impact positively on people’s lives and it is for that reason that the response from people has always been high,” said Kadango.

Kadango said following the success of the Yabooka mega promotion, the country’s leading telecom decided to increase the number of people winning in Airtel Yabooka by introducing the SMS promotion to the tune of K29 million.

Every week until October, the company which has just been named the best telecommunication company in the country by MACRA will be splashing out over K1 million to about eleven subscribers, according to Kadango.

To enter the promotion, Airtel subscribers send an SMS written PATA to 50009. After registering they answer simple questions as a way of increasing their chances of winning these huge sums of money. One Airtel customer is carting home K100 000 every day.

“This is a game and as is the case with any game, the more you play the more you create your chances of winning,” he said.

At the end of the promotion, one lucky winner will go away with K5 million cash as grand price.
