It would appear very few boxers are hard-boiled enough to dare Malawi’s celebrated pugilist Isaac ‘Golden Boy’ Chilemba after his first opponent Zsolt Erdei chickened out a couple of weeks ago citing rib injury and, his replacement Paul Vasquez followed suit but with a different story.

Vasquez, the replacement whom Chilemba was relishing to add to his list of victims, is reported to have failed a medical test forcing DiBella Boxing Promotions to hunt for a third replacement.

Another United States boxer Cory Cummings, 33, who has won 17 fights including 13 knockouts, lost five times and drawn once has now been lined up.

In an email message, Chilemba confirmed the change and hoped that the changes would not affect him.

“I won’t be fighting Paul Vasquez because he has failed a medical test. The promoter has since identified Cory Cummings as a possible opponent. He is equally tough,” he said.

The World Boxing Council international light heavyweight boxer now has to change his game plan for the third time and admits it is not easy to adjust because one plans based on the particular opponent.

“I will work hard with my trainer to achieve both. Nevertheless, at Hit Factory Gym just off the Strip,” he said.
