Motorist in Blantyre continue struggling to get fuel as most service stations are running out of the commodity.

A spot check bythe media in Blantyre established that long quees have resusitated like months ago where motorists used to spend nights in filling stations in search of fuel.

The development comes amid reports that fuel pump price may go up soon this week forcing some Fuel depot to hold fuel in anticipation of the price adjustment.

Some fuel attendants said they dont know the cause of the fuel shortage.

Meanwhile the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority-MERA has dismissed reports that fuel pump price will go up soon.

However some fuel companies have confided tothe media that the fuel pump price may go up because on the internation market the prices are also not stable.

Malawi adopted Automatic Pricing Mechanism meaning fuel price is raised depending on the international market.
