History is set to be made next week Wednesday when Surestream launches Malawi’s official football academy at MDC United.
Surestream football academy ambassador Peter Mponda said all was set for the launch.
Mponda said the academy will help in developing football in the country.
“We want to show them that we have talented football players in the country if they can start learning the basics when they are as young as Under 10, Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16,” Mponda
“People may recall that the current crop of players such as myself, Swadick Sanudi, Valence Kamzere, Allan Kamanga, Aaron Nyasulu were scouted from strong youth policy of German technical advisor Manfred Hoener.”
Fam general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda confirmed that Surestream was ready to launch the academy on non-residential basis.
“We are working on the logistics for the launch of the academy and for sure, Surestream will be highly represented but we haven’t finalised on that one,” Nyirenda said.
He said after the renovations of MDC United and furnishing of facilities at the ground Surestream will set up residential units to act as a complete football academy.
