The directorate of Zodiak Broadcasting Station says the broadcaster will begin TV broadcasting by mid next year after it was awarded a license some months ago.
Managing Director Gospel Kazako said this as ZBS clocks 7 years of existence on November 1.
He attributed success of the radio to the support it receives from listeners, advertisers and employees’ commitment.
“It has been a rough road over the years but by the grace of God we are what we are today,” said Kazako
He added: “We believe that these poor Malawians deserve the best and they get that when we give them true and accurate information which we will continue to provide.”
Meanwhile, the Media Institute for Southern Africa – MISA – Malawi Chapter has commended ZBS for the role it is playing in the disseminating important information to the rural population.
Chairperson of MISA Malawi Chapter Mr. Anthony Kasunda said ZBS has been very instrumental in reaching out to the rural communities with health, economic, agricultural and other issues relevant to the Malawian society.
“ZBS has helped a lot in informing the rural populace on issues that are relevant to their livelihood since it’s a national broadcaster, and we commend it for the role it is playing.”
For six consecutive years since its inception the station has been voted the best electronic media house of the year by MISA Malawi.
