Angry villagers have beaten to death a 36 year old village headman on suspicion that he was selling grave yard trees in the area of Traditional Authority Kalolo in Lilongwe, central Malawi.

Lilongwe police public relations officer inspector Ramsey Mshane confirmed that Mr. Alick Mawole who was village headman Makobola was killed on Sunday, November 11.

In a related development, in Karonga; Police have arrested three brothers for allegedly killing a 90 year old man whom they accused of practicing witchcraft.

Police say the deceased was discovered dead in his house with a deep cut in the head; his private parts chopped off and were left just beside him while in Rumphi, police have launched a man hunt for a man who is alleged to have murdered his father at Vongo in the area of traditional authority Mtwalo.
