MANEB has finally released the 2012 Malawi Schools Certificate of Examinations results after many weeks of delay that has not been adequately explained.
111,781 candidates sat for the examinations and 51.8 percent of them passed. That is 57,906 candidates have passed. The pass rate is lower than last year and more than 2,000 candidates were disqualified for various reasons.
There has been growing pressure for the education board to release the results as they were well overdue and no plausible reasons were being given why the results were being delayed.
