Residents of BCA area of Limbe were last night kept awake by prolonged gunfire.
There was no immediate comment by the Police but the residents attributed the gunfire to house break-ins which they say are on the increase in their neighborhoods.
Several homes have been attacked and robbed along Viphya Avenue in Chigumula, Newlands and the BCA area.
There has been a spate of armed robberies as well in various parts of the country recently.
Last week a gang of thugs attacked Chipiku Store at Ginnery corner in Blantyre going away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The thugs, who were armed with pangas an AK 47 rifle, also injured some of the shop workers and clients.
