World football governing body Fifa is expected to assess the development of Malawi football over the past 60 years.
A delegation of Fifa officials headed by Development Officer Ashford Mamelodi, Performance Consultants Giancarlo Sergi and Govinden Thondoo, is expected in the country today.
Fam general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda confirmed the development.
“The delegation comprising Ashford Mamelodi (Fifa Development Officer), Giancarlo Sergi and Govinden Thondoo (Fifa Performance Consultants) will discuss with a number of stakeholders on the re-activation of the Performance Program in Malawi which will include an assessment of the current status of the game in Malawi at both Management and Technical levels,” Nyirenda said.
The Fifa Performance Program, launched in 2008, is aimed at allowing member associations to reach their maximum potential both on and off the pitch.
It aims at achieving this by improving the quality of modern football and how the game is managed by providing member associations with first-class expertise, solutions and tailor-made services.
