MEC to conduct consultative meetings on demarcation of wards ahead of 2014 elections

The Malawi Electoral Commssion-MEC will conduct consultative meeting in some districts to solicite views on the demarcation of wards ahead of the 2014 tripartite elections.

MEC’s spokesperson Sangwani Mwafulirwa confirmed the development in an interview.

According to Mwafulirwa the public hearing will take place in three districts of Kasungu, Nsanje and Rumphi starting on the 19th of December.

Currently the country has 444 wards where elections for counsellors are expected to take place.
