With Goodall Gondwe now sympathetic to the administration and a member of the cabinet, he has automatically acquired another set of immunity from prosecution for his role in acquisition of fertilizer for the Farm Input Subsidy programme.

His imminent prosecution was the main feature of statements emerging from the Ministry of Justice during the hay days of the President Joyce Banda administration.

The statements claimed that the administration would cause the prosecution because consent for movement on the case had already been granted in the preceding administration where Gondwe also served as minister.

Questions were raised in the statements from the ministry responsible for justice why prosecution did not take place then with consent already had.

This is the reason, the statement said, the justice delivery system needs to be rid of political interference.

Today the same question comes: why is Gondwe not being prosecuted with consent existent?

Answer? The justice delivery system is not ridden of political interference!
