After a wave of international figures that have been in Malawi of late including Hillary Clinton and Melinda Gates, the head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) is also set to visit Malawi early 2013.

Mrs. Christine Lagarde will visit the southern African for a two day consultative discussions with President Banda and other top officials.

“She will be in Malawi between January 4 and 6,” confirmed Malawi Finance Minister Ken Lipenga.

While in Malawi Mrs. Lagarde is expected to visit Micro Loan Foundation projects and will also be hosted to a presidential at Kamuzu Palace.

The meeting gives the Joyce Banda administration an opportunity to share with Lagarde solutions the current economic crisis.
