The Malawi national football team has dropped ten places in December’s FIFA World rankings released yesterday.

The Flames, who were on position 101 have dropped 10 places and are now ranked 111 in the world.

This could be attributed to the recent losses that the team experienced including the knock out in the CECAFA tournament.

Meanwhile, South Africa has dropped three places to position 87, one month before they open the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Spain remain top of the global rankings, and Ivory Coast, lying 14th overall, heading the list of African teams.

The Flames are currently in South Africa ahead of the their friendly against Bafana Bafana this weekend.
