Despite conceited effort on the part of South Africa to dislodge the Malawi queens as the top side in Africa, Malawi have ended the year 2012 as the undisputed No. 1 team in Africa and sitting in fifth place worldwide.
At the end of 2012, in the latest World Rankings list released by the INF, Australia is still the world’s highest ranked team, ahead of New Zealand. England is third in the world with Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls in the fourth spot.
Malawi close rivals South Africa are sixth while Mary Waya’s Tanzania has moved up to 17th in the world, following their victory in the Nations Cup in Singapore in December and are just behind Botswana who are 16th.
