South Africa based Malawian pugilist Isaac Chilemba is confident he will take part in his first ever world title fight this year.
Chilemba, the reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) International light heavyweight champion, disclosed this through an email message.
The boxer said his management team was looking for possibilities and opportunities to enable him take on a reputable boxer in a world title fight.
“There is a great chance that I might go for a world title fight. My management team is busy working on this,” he said.
The Golden Boy dubbed the just ended year as his most successful in recent times.
“It has been a great year. I learnt a lot as far as boxing is concerned. And as an African trying to make it internationally I am impressed,” he said.

“My career has been going on well, beating one of the world top fighters Edison Miranda is my highlight of year 2012 and getting name like Zsolt Edei, who unfortunately was injured, it showed that my career is heading in the right direction,” he said.
Chilemba thanked his manager Jodi Solomon for securing an American promoter for him.
“I thank God I have the team. My management has been wonderful since I have got an American trainer and here in South Africa I have got coach Andson Kazembe,” he said.
Chilemba trekked to South Africa in 2005 and he has fought 22 fights winning 20 including nine knockouts, lost and drawn once.
