With just less than three days before the January 17 demonstrations, more calls are pouring in for the organizers to cancel their plans and give dialogue a chance.
The demonstrations, which are been organized by Consumer rights activists continue attracting mixed reactions from the public and commentators.
While some are supporting the protests which are against the rising cost of living, others are speaking against them stressing the need for contact and dialogue.
Kaunda, a Member of Parliament for Nkhata-Bay central expressed worry over the position taken by CAMA officials to go ahead with the demonstrations.
According to Kaunda, those organizing the protests should reflect on past experiences.
“The government has opened doors that whosoever has issues should approach it, why then talking about demonstrating?” he wondered.
“I pray that the organizers should rescind their decision and go for talks with government” he added.
