In her continued effort to silence critical journalists and buying positive publicity, President Joyce Banda has invaded Capital Radio and has already bribed its chief reporter Timothy Kateta with K4.8million as starter pack, one of the six State House Press Officers has revealed.

Apart from the cash, president Banda through Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu has promised Kateta that he would take over from State House Press Officer Brian Banda once he officially get the chop soon.

Kunkuyu and Kateta are together in China where they are attending a workshop on propaganda reporting and online moderation. The trip has been sponsored by Macra, a government arm run on taxpayers’ money. They left on Friday and are expected to return on Saturday. They are said to be pocketing about K870, 000 per day as sitting allowance.

The development has come barely few hours after ZBS’s Managing Director Gospel Kazako and Chief Editor Pilirani Phiri were exposed for pocketing money worth K10million each from President Banda as one way of inducing them for positive reporting.
