Barely a month after a 50 kilogram bag of maize was sold at MK5000, the prices have skyrocketed again in Nkhotakota district, one of Malawi’s Lakeshore district.
A snap survey has indicated that people were buying the maize at MK7, 500 from the vendors.
The hike is because in Admarc depots where the commodity is sold at MK3,000 has ran out of stock.
In most parts of the country Admarc depots maize is out of stock.
