Hundreds of primary school pupils are holding a protest march in the streets of Blantyre.

The protests are against the continued absence of classes in their respective schools following the civil service strike.

The pupils, some in school uniform, chanting anti-government songs, headed to Sanjika Palace, where they are set to call upon President Joyce Banda to resolve the strike so they resume classes.

The protests started on Wednesday, where pupils from Zingwangwa and Chimwankhunda invaded the Joyce Banda Foundation International schools, which apparently is owned by the state president.
