It has established that indeed President Joyce Banda had resigned two days before flying out to Guinea last week but rescinded her decision after she was advised that Vice President Khumbo Kachali was not the right person to take the party to victory in 2014.
Findings by member of the media have therefore established that the letter that was denounced by State House was written by the President herself.
The investigations involved interviewing some top State House officials and family members and found out that after being advised against making Khumbo Kachali President a task force was instituted led by Ralph Kasambara to look at the constitution and find ways of baring Kachali from taking over because he was not elected to the position of Vice President. JB then suggested to the task force the name of Chimunthu Banda as the likely person to take over as he had shown to be one of the people that could give DPP and UDF problems in 2014.
The name of Chimunthu was however thrown out by the task force because they feared he was somebody who could not be trusted.
After failing to agree on the names and after learning that the letter had already been leaked, a plan was hatched to make JB fly to Guinea because this trip was initially cancelled with the strike taking toll but she had to go anyway to show that she was still in-charge and announce the MK2 million bounty on her return.
