Supporters of Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers are all smiles following news that Carlsberg Malawi Limited will continue sponsoring both teams to the tune of K15 million each.
The company announced the sponsorship news at a press briefing held Tuesday afternoon in Blantyre.
Carlsberg Malawi Chief Executive Officer Abel Chanje told a news conference that after a “thorough determination” they realized that both teams had done enough by meeting conditions asset aside to earn the sponsorship.
Last season the company financed both sides, but promised to pick one team at the end of the season that impresses in fair play, performance and discipline on and off the field of play.
Both teams finished the season with a cup each, the People’s Team won the Presidential Cup while Wanderers, popularly known as the Nomads won the Standard Bank Cup.
