Comedian Boni Kalindo aka Winiko and Dr. Hetherwick Ntaba among others have gone unopposed at the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) convention currently being held at Comesa Hall in Blantyre city.

Patricia Kaliati, former minister of information is national director of women; Bessie Chirambo has been confirmed as national campaign director and will be deputized by Yasinta Chikaonda.

Ntaba, a former presidential spokesperson of late president Bingu wa Mutharika and founder of the DPP, who has recently been quiet from active politics, has been elected as vice-president (central region); vice-president (northern region) is Chitipa North legislator Nick Masebo.

Comedian Boni Winiko Kalindo has joined the party’s National Governing Council as deputy publicity secretary, the position he will share with Zeliya Chakale, Laurine Mukunkha.

Former Parliamentarian Olive Masanza will deputize the post of national campaign director together with George Saonda and Ellen Solomon Chisale.

Other notable faces joining the NGC unopposed are Parliamentarian Anna Kachikho and Sai Kaphale (and not Kalekeni Kaphale as Zodiak Broadcasting Service has been reporting) who has joined as director of legal affairs.

Director of Research is now Ted Salule Masangwi.
