Supersport.com’s Peter Kanjere has been named Malawi’s Sports Journalist of The Year.

Kanjere received a trophy and R2,000 for his work during the awards held in Blantyre on Saturday evening.

He had submitted a series of articles on how injuries were robbing Malawi football its talent through lack of a sports doctors association, qualified personal and poor training methods.

It is the second win for Kanjere who won the accolade in 2009.

He has won several other awards in recent months as he was named the best print reporter for the Standard Bank Knock-Out Trophy in November last year and in March this year, he was also voted the best print journalist for the TNM Super League.

“It has been a humbling experience for me. I can only build on this and work harder.
