Residents of Kaliyeka area in Lilongwe had a rude awakening on Monday when they found two bodies at Kaliyeka ground.
The two are believed to have been burnt to death on the night before because the bodies were charred.
But the police said were still investigating if the deceased were criminals fallen victim to mob justice.
“It’s true the two were burnt to death but it is two early to say if they were criminals,” said Ramsy Mushani, spokesperson for Lilongwe.
Such incidents are not unusual in Lilongwe where most residents believe in mob justice whenever they apprehend suspects.—Zodiak Online
