Alfred Upindi: Died of Diabetes on Wednesday
The first Secretary to the President and Cabinet in the Bakili Muluzi administration Alfred Upindi has died of diabetes at a South African Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
Upindi was Malawi’s state secretary between 1994 and 2000 and hailed from Chiradzulu.
He had worked for 40 years in Malawi’s civil service at the time he was retiring on May 16, 2004.
