Flames captain Joseph Kamwendo has finally arrived in the country ahead of the Flames crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Namibia on Wednesday.
Kamwendo arrived on Monday afternoon in Lilongwe from Mozambique and joins the team in camp at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre this evening.
His coming was delayed as his team Liga Malcumana was playing against TP Mazembe of DRC in the CAF confederations cup on Sunday.
He said he is ready to lead the team to another victory after guiding them to a 1-0 win over Namibia in the first round in Windhoek in February.
“I am happy to be home and play for the country. It is always an honour to represent one’s country and for that matter as captain.
“I am confident we will carry the day,’ he said.
Defender James Sangala and midfielder peter Wadabwa are the only foreign based players who I are yet to join the team.
They are expected in the country this evening.
