MCP is set to trim the number of its presidential candidates from 12 to four or three ahead of its convention likely to take place on August 9. The party’s president John Tembo has confirmed is among the contenders but favourite contender Dr. Lazrus Chakwera is likely to face the chop if the party applies the ”five year rule” that any candidate must have served the party for that period.
