Tenants occupying Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) Welfare flats in Kanjedza are living in suspense following reports that the flats are being sold to Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC).

“We have not been officially communicated to by our landlord. Admarc, on when they would sell the flats and indeed what will happen to us their tenants after this sell”, said one of the tenants

The tenant also said they are now they would not be accommodated in the flats anymore because reports indicate that the flats will further be offered to some top politician who wants to turn them into students’ hostels.

But Admarc General Manager Jerry Jana disputed these reports as mere rumor mongering.

“Tell those tenants not to worry about rumor mongers. Admarc is an established institution which has fixed procedures which it follows whenever engaging itself in such transactions,” Jana said.
