“Jerome Ramatlhakwane scored the lone go six minutes into the second half to hand Botswana 1-0 win over Malawi’s Flames in an international training game played at National Stadium in Gaborone on Tuesday evening.
Malawi was using the game to shape up for crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday away.
Botswana on the hand are preparing for a match against South Africa which bears no consequence to them as they are already out of the qualifiers.
Flames coach Tom Saintfiet tried new combinations among them Foster Namwela and |James Sangala at the back while Robert Ng’ambi played as a supporting striker behind Atusaye Nyondo , in his trademark position at Platinum Stars in South Africa where he is scoring a lot of goals.
This was Flames second loss to Botswana in a training match after the Zebras edged the Flames by the same goal margin in February this year as the Flames were travelling to Namibia for a Fifa world cup qualifier which Flames won 1-0
Flames leave Botswana tomorrow for Ghana where they will proceed to Nigeria on Thursday”
