Some disgruntled fans of the Country’s national football team, The Flames, are set to stage a march against the poor performance of the team.

The Flames, once written as ‘The Frames’, by the state broadcaster MBCtv, have recently displayed exceptional brilliance in failing in their football efforts. The team started by fairing badly at the COSAFA cup in Zambia before a streak of draws, a loss to Botswana and a win over Rwanda in International friendlies.

The final nail on the Frames coffin was nailed in Calabar, Nigeria, when the Nigerian national team gave a 2 – nil baptism to the team and ended their nightmare of being in Brazil in 2014.

Meanwhile, Blantyre based sympathizers of the team have written the Blantyre city council to give them a go-ahead to stage a march against the national team. The march, expected to take place this Sunday (September 16) is expected to start from the Kamuzu upper stadium to FAM offices in Chiwembe.

It is not known what will be carried in the petition.
