The High Court in Mzuzu has declared invalid the results of the AFORD convention that elected Enoch Chihana as its president at Marymount Secondary School in Mzuzu last weekend.

After a complaint by a sector of the party that felt disgruntled by the results of the convention, the court has ordered the two sides to sit down together and come up with an interim executive awaiting another indaba.

Chihana, a minister of youth in the PP led government of Joyce Banda, had indicated way before the convention that once elected as AFORD president he would take the party into a conventional marriage with the PP.

The decision of the court which means Chihana is no longer President of the party, therefore, has put a stop to the matrimony between the two parties
