Chikoti wins half a million in the MAWU novel competition

Lilongwe based writer, Shadreck Chikoti, was announced yesterday as the winner of the MAWU Peer-Gynt novel competition at a prize presentation ceremony hosted at Latitude 13 in Lilongwe.

Chikoti, for being a winner, received a cheque of half a million Kwacha and will have his manuscript published. Seconding Chikoti was Ananiya Ponje who got away with another cheque, this time of MK300,000. Third on the list was Jonathan Thanthwe Mbuna who got MK200,000 cheque. They will also have their manuscripts published.

Aside the top three, there were also consolation prizes that went to three manuscripts which having failed to meet the specifications still deserved an honorable mention.
