Robbers on the night of Saturday siphoned oil from the transformer that supplies electricity to Sanjika palace in Blantyre.
Reports indicate that the development left the houses of the staff around the palace in darkness until it was discovered in the morning that robbers had dared to do the only imaginable act: of breaking into the premises of a head of state.
The situation has not only worried occupants of the houses around the state residence but also some citizens who have always lamented of a security lapse in the nation.
