Newly appointed MCP spokesperson, Jessie Kabwila, has refused to step down as University lecturer despite her appointment as the oldest party’s spokesperson.

According to media reports, Kabwila, an ex-activist has said that she cannot be forced to resign when amongst her friends there have ever been people who have been in active politics as well as work as University lecturers.

Kabwila’s message has come at a time when the ruling Peoples’ Party has called on the vocal woman to resign from her lecturer position in the University as the laws of the land do not allow public officers to be into active politics.
