Lilongwe based activist, Billy Mayaya, has hinted that he is planning to obtain an injunction against the Malawi Electoral Commission as to force the commission to extend the registration period in some areas in the capital city after some fit-to-register people failed to be registered owing to some irregularities within the registration systems.

Mayaya, who once served as a pastor in the Nkhoma synod, failed to shed more light on the injunction he plans to obtain or the dates he plans to have it served before the electoral body.

“Time to seek an injunction for MEC to extend voter registration in the Central Region,” said Mayaya.

Reports indicate that some centres in Lilongwe have had their people not registered.
