In the wake of a damning report by former Mutharika aide, Allan Ntata, on corruption and looting, the European Union has slapped President Joyce Banda who has been implicated in the report with a travel ban. However, government has opted to lie to the nation that the president will not be touring the European countries in line with the new economic measures as propagated by Finance minister, Maxwell Mkwezalamba, even though she has vowed to violate the measures.

Information indicates that the EU has told Banda that she is not welcome in their countries unless after she manages to be in control of the Cash-gate scandal that has left her government with egg all over its face.

Meanwhile, the President has traveled to Kuwait and Abhu Dhabi while on the same austerity measures.
