Chief tourism officer in the ministry of tourism, Leonard Kalonga, has been re-arrested this afternoon.
Kalonga was arrested by the police over corruption allegations in which he has so far mentioned the Speaker of the national assembly, Henry Chimunthu Banda, and Reserve bank governor, Charles Chuka, as his witnesses making tongues wag that the two are also connected to the scam.
After that, Kalonga was released on bail.
However, the police have re-arrested him this afternoon over the purchase of four Marcopolo Scania buses for the ministry of tourism.
Police have confirmed of the arrest.
