The works on the Kapichira power station are not yet done and if consumers thought that the massive load-shedding they have ever experienced or have been experiencing is the end of all then they were mistaken.

The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has announced to its customers that they should brace themselves for a massive load-shedding from Thursday, November 28, to Sunday, December 1.

In a press statement, the body has said that the massive load-shedding will come about as a result of a shutdown of Kapichira power station which will eventually affect and influence the power supply to the nation.

ESCOM has disclosed that over the time that the power station will be shut down, they will be able to produce 64 Megawatts which falls short of the estimated Megawatts by 256 as the country is forecast to be demanding 320 Megawatts.
