Mr. Paul Mphwiyo is finally in the country, FaceofMalawi can confirm.
The Budget Director in the Ministry of Finance, now on leave after surviving a fatal shooting, has arrived in the country this afternoon through the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.
Mr. Mphwiyo, however, refused to take questions from any journalist on the scene and has been driven out of the airport, apparently to his Area 43 home where he survived the shooting.
The shooting of Mphwiyo on September 13 opened a pandora box in what has been termed the Cashgate scandal in which various members of staff at the Capitol hill and some ruling party die-hards as well as executive members of the party were discovered with either obscene amounts of cash or were discovered to have received dubious payments.
