Businessman and estranged PP executive member Oswald Lutepo is still on remand at Zomba maximum security prison despite being given a bail by the Zomba High Court.
Reports that have been confirmed by lutepo’s lawyer, Jai Banda, indicate that Lutepo has failed to raise the MK 50 million bail bond that the court demanded of him.
Media reports have indicated that Lutepo currently has a MK 28 million in his account following a freezing of some of his bank accounts by the Fiscal police and the Anti-corruption Bureau.
It has been revealed that some two top PP gurus have as well pledged to lend him MK 10 million each so that together with what he has it can amount to a MK 48 million and they can search for the remaining MK 2 million.
However, Lutepo has been scared that if he uses all the money that he has then he will have nothing to pay his workers and that will be his end.
Oswald Lutepo, a chief suspect in the Capital hill looting also known as the Cashgate scandal is being accused of stealing over MK 2 billion and a half.
His lawyer has said he will appeal the bail amount.
