In September 1997 the SADC Heads of State conference was held in Blantyre, Malawi. On 8th September 1997, President Nelson Mandela delivered a speech as Chairman for SADC at Sunbird Mount Soche, Blantyre. To honour this great man, Sunbird Mount Soche’s Presidential Suite was named “The Mandela Suite”.
Originally built to accomodate Nelson Mandela in September 1997, the suite has since been upgraded and redesigned.
The room boasts a larger master bedroom, its own separate lounge area and mini executive boardroom with plush leather seats.Further amenities in the suite include two LCD TV’s with DSTV, air-conditioning and ample desk space for guests requiring an area to work.
