The prestigious knock-out Standard Bank trophy will come to a sudden and dead end next year, the bank has announced.
The bank has arrived at the decision following its discovery that there are more finances being pumped into the mainstream football and not the developmental aspect of it.
According to the bank, they will now be moving into the developmental aspect of the game in which they will be sponsoring teams in the lower leagues or even establish a trophy for lower teams.
Unlike in the past when companies have had to quit from sponsoring football due to violence, Standard bank has just decided to shift its attention.
It is yet to be known if the decision will not backfire on the bank as the bank used the trophy to win over customers especially in the voting categories for the other teams that had to participate after failing to make it into the top 6 of the league.
